Mayflower

Location: Weybourne, North Norfolk
Date: 28/02/2009

By way of a change I decided that yesterday I would relive some old memories and become a train spotter for the day. Took a ride to Weybourne for the 50 years since the end of the railway in Norfolk celebrations. What a day it was. Bought a lineside ticket and an orange hi viz vest and took to the tracks.

Barn Owl on post

Location: North Norfolk
Date: 29/01/2009

Never seem to tire of these birds they appear to have such a hold on me and are generally loved by most people.

Spent the day on the coast but made it back just in time for the afternoon parade of the Owls. Seem to be hunting now quite regularly during the day but true to form can be very unpredictable.

Stoat (Mustela erminea).

Location: North Norfolk.
Date: 26/12/2008

Taken today in some lovely light and it beats going to the sales any day.
As I always say one of my favourite Mammals and am chuffed to bits to get as close as I did.
Caught it dragging a dead Rabbit across a Wheat field. It panicked when it heard the engine and dropped its prey and shot off like a rocket.
Decided to sit it out and wait to see if it would return. It did so at least three times and frantically searched for the lost prey(at least I think that is what it was doing) It was hyperactive and very difficult to lock onto. It even ran under the car and two minutes later it came back past the back end.
Four hours well spent and hope I can repeat it some day.

Grey Partridge in Stubble.

Location: North Norfolk
Date: 16/11/2008

Spent the day on Salthouse Beach with limited success.

On my way home pushed the boat out and called at one of my favourite sites little Snoring Airfield. The light was fading fast so used mirror lock up on this image to combat the effects of slow shutter speed.
