Raptor day
Location: Norfolk
Date: 31/01/2010
The last day of January turned out to be a bit of a Raptor day.
It started off well and continued. A kestrel had the right idea and sat and waited patiently whilst a splendid Barn owl did all the hard work. Everytime the Barn Owl caught a prey item the Kestrel swooped down and robbed it of its prized posession. I moved on no more than a mile and sat waiting for a Stoat I had stumbled across only last week. Instead of the Stoat I gained another Barn Owl still out and hunting at 11-15am.
The afternoon brought even more Barn Owls along with a couple off Short-eared owls as an added bonus. The trip to the fens had payed off.
Fly Agaric - Amanita muscaria
Location: North Norfolk.
Date: 11/10/2009
After the recent drop of rain here in North Norfolk I decided to see if any of these had sprung up over the last few days. Not to be dissapointed I found this nice example under Pine Trees(The usual spot).

Water Voles(Arvicola terrestris)
Location: Derbyshire.
Date: 24/09/2009
Spent a few days thoroughly enjoying myself with these enduring mammals. What a privelage to be able to spend some time with them in viewing their antics. Always on the go and providing me with a few opportunities to photograph them. I will be back for more in the future.
Little Owl on a shrink wrapped straw bale.
Location: North Norfolk
Date: 19/08/2009
Little Owl (Athene noctua)
- After being tipped off by a very kind farmer I rushed home tonight to go and pay this little beauty a visit.
- Several shots later and after sometime I managed to get him perched on a shrink wrapped straw bale. A modern version.
- Well worth the mad dash and one to repeat tomorrow evening if the weather holds.
